The title of my poem of patience discreetly hints

at what the reader may find.

The lines are formed slowly and magnanimously

to give the words their time for definition.

The words describe what the poet

must surely feel on the inside,

following the rhythm that is used in good fun

in these deliberately delicate lines.

And finally, the meter is used to guide

the rambunctiously wild rhyme.

All the while the page, sitting idly by,

patient as the poet valiantly tries.

Hate by J.L. (Writing Our Stories)

He climbs into us through any open passage, just so he can crawl his way into our chest. He gives off a smell of rotten eggs and sulfur....
